REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's or equivalent foreign degree in Electrical Engineering, or related. No experience required.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Experience and/or coursework must include:
1. Analog circuit and semiconductor devices
2. Programming skills in C++ and/or Visual Basic
3. Digital and Analog Device Debugging Abilities
4. Lab experience with schematic capture tools (Cadence, PSPICE, etc.)
5. Proficient with MS Office
6. Lab experience with bench top instrumentation
7. Strong communications and interpersonal skills

DESCRIPTION: This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Intersil's leading Computing Power Management Test Engineering Groups based in central New Jersey. Test Engineers develop software and hardware solutions for product verification, characterization, and production release.  These solutions consist of creative use of signal generation, various analog/digital conversions, and software algorithms to critically analyze highly advance analog ICs. They interface with design engineering and product engineering to design test hardware and the supporting software to test devices based on specifications from the data sheet and marketing inputs. The Test Engineer helps supports the product manufacture ramp up.

Responsibilities include:
-Develop product test solutions for High Performance Analog integrated circuits. This includes developing test methodologies, defining test schematic, layout and hardware, test program development, debug, correlation and transfer to manufacturing site.
-Test solutions to be developed in C++ program language using Eagle Test System automated test equipment.
-Candidate will advise on "design for testability", provide test throughput enhancements, and identify and eliminate tester limited yield issues when appropriate.
-Interface with manufacturing as required. Participation on New Product Development Team required and evaluates new test systems for future applications.

Test Engineer Internship:
The intern candidate will interact with engineers in different functions: design, applications, product and test. He/she will be mentored by a test engineer. The intern will learn circuit debugging, test program, and gain tester experience on power management products. This intern position is good for someone who is in junior year or higher in electrical engineering program. While targeting a summer hire, we are also open to exploring co-op and part time opportunities.

Potential Work Assignments

Position Requirements:

This full-time position offers qualified individuals participation in production development and applications support in Intersil’s most prominent server Core and Memory power management applications engineering group. This group mainly supports DC/DC conversion products including single and multi-phase PWM controllers, multi-output controllers, MOSFET drivers, and Integrated MOSFET products. Responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:
•Support Intel/AMD next generation product definition and development
•Design evaluation boards and create respective test reports for existing or new products
•Work with design, product and test engineers to solve silicon issues
•Generate product datasheet, application notes, and silicon validation reports
•Create technical presentation materials for marketing and field support
•Provide technical support to key customers and critical design opportunities
•Visit customers, promote products, and identify opportunities
•Write and publish technical articles in trade journals

This design center emphasizes teamwork and prefers a qualified individual who is easy to work with and will stay in NJ for long term. Traveling is typically 10% or more for this position.  The opportunity is open to experienced power experts and new college graduates with right credentials. Mentoring will be provided as needed.
